Antony's True Feelings Towards Ruben Amorim Revealed After Real Betis Move
Antony, who is currently on loan at Real Betis, has adjusted well but could still return to Manchester United next season, as there is no clause in the loan agreement to make the move permanent.
Antony is showcasing his skills at Real Betis, impressing in his early games. Despite this, his agent has stated that the Brazilian still holds a lot of respect for Manchester United’s head coach, Ruben Amorim, and is keen to prove he can win back his place at Old Trafford.
The £86m signing from United, after a disappointing spell at the club, was sent to Betis last month. However, with no option for a permanent transfer included in the deal, Antony’s agent Junior Pedroso emphasized that his client’s future at United is still uncertain.
"Football is ever-changing, and long-term plans can’t always be made," Pedroso explained. "There may be more chapters left in Antony's story with Manchester United, or there might not be. It depends on the decisions made by both the club and the player."
Antony is under contract with United until 2027, earning £120,000 a week. Since joining, he has scored 12 goals in 96 appearances but has struggled with form, scoring just once in the Premier League since April 2023.
His agent also revealed that Premier League clubs and even Saudi Arabian teams had shown interest in taking Antony on loan, but he preferred a move to Spain, which he believes is the best environment for his development.
Pedroso further noted that Spanish football plays to Antony's strengths, allowing him more freedom in his attacking role. Both he and United felt the loan move was the right choice for the forward’s recovery.
Despite no buy-out clause, Betis CEO Ramon Alarcon suggested that Antony could still be part of the team beyond this season, signaling potential future interest from the La Liga side.
