Following the launch of the eMax 7 last year, which was introduced to rival the Innova Hycross and Invicto, the Chinese brand BYD is all set to unveil the highly anticipated Sealion 7 on February 17. Along with the launch, BYD will also reveal the pricing details. Here’s a sneak peek into what to expect from the BYD Sealion 7’s launch!

BYD Sealion 7 Launch Details
The BYD Sealion 7 made its debut at the Auto Expo 2025, creating quite a buzz among attendees. The SUV will officially be launched on February 17, with pricing announcements following shortly after. The brand has confirmed that deliveries will begin early, starting March 7. As the flagship SUV for BYD, the Sealion 7 is expected to be priced at a premium, likely around Rs 70 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). It will go head-to-head with competitors such as the BMW iX1 LWB, Kia EV6, and Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Sealion 7 Design and Features
The Sealion 7 is essentially the SUV variant of BYD’s outgoing Seal sedan. With a sleek, aerodynamic design and a sporty coupe roofline, the SUV stands out. It’s fitted with 20-inch alloy wheels to enhance its dynamic look. Inside, the cabin exudes luxury, featuring Nappa leather upholstery throughout. Technological highlights include a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen, a large panoramic sunroof, and advanced amenities like Level 2 ADAS, a hands-free electric tailgate, and electrically adjustable, ventilated front seats.

Sealion 7 Powertrain Options
The Sealion 7 offers two powertrain options: Performance and Premium, both equipped with an 82.56 kWh battery pack. The Premium version comes with a single motor powering the rear wheels, delivering 308 horsepower and an estimated range of 567 km. Meanwhile, the Performance variant boasts a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) configuration, producing 523 horsepower and 690 Nm of torque, with a claimed range of 542 km.
