Bucks Guard Andre Jackson Jr. Ejected After Flagrant 2 Foul vs. Jazz
SALT LAKE CITY – With just 52 seconds remaining in the Milwaukee Bucks’ game against the Utah Jazz on Monday night, guard Andre Jackson Jr. was ejected after committing a flagrant 2 foul on Collin Sexton.
Sexton was driving along the baseline when Jackson fouled him, causing Sexton to spin in mid-air before hitting the floor hard. It was clear that Jackson made contact with Sexton's arm as he passed by, but the referees determined that Jackson had intentionally wound up for the hit and made excessive, unnecessary contact, which led to the flagrant 2 penalty.
“Late in the game, I think the refs were just trying to keep things clean,” Bucks coach Doc Rivers explained. “The game was getting intense, and I believe they wanted to avoid any further issues. I understand it, though I didn’t think it was a flagrant 2. But I get why they made that call.”
Before heading to the locker room, Jackson and Sexton shook hands in what ended as a 125-110 Bucks victory.
This marks the second time this season that Jackson has been ejected for a flagrant 2 foul. The first instance occurred on January 2 against Brooklyn when he slapped Nic Claxton in an open-court play.
