Taylor Swift ‘Taking a Step Back’ from Blake Lively Amid Legal Dispute with Justin Baldoni

Amid an ongoing legal battle between It Ends with Us co-stars Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively, Taylor Swift is reportedly distancing herself from Lively after being unexpectedly pulled into the conflict.

According to the Daily Mail, a source revealed that Swift feels she was used as an “intimidation tactic” against Baldoni. "For the time being, she is taking a step back from Blake because she doesn’t want to get further involved than she already has—far more than she ever needed to be,” the source explained.

In leaked text messages between Lively and Baldoni, Lively compared herself to Game of Thrones character Khaleesi, or “Mother of Dragons,” and referred to Reynolds and Swift as her “dragons.” The source added that Lively's “I’m Khaleesi, and like her, I happen to have dragons” text to Baldoni was seen by friends as “uncool and unnecessary,” describing Swift and Reynolds as “pets or possessions” used to intimidate Baldoni.

In Baldoni’s $400 million lawsuit against Lively, Swift’s name was mentioned, claiming she was present at a meeting organized by Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, which allegedly intensified the situation. The insider clarified, “Taylor shouldn’t even be involved in this at all. She was just visiting Blake and Ryan, thinking the meeting would be finished.”

Another source added, “Taylor has politely distanced herself from the drama. She is mindful of her public image and dislikes being dragged into this.”

The trial for Baldoni and Lively’s legal dispute over It Ends with Us is scheduled for March 9, 2026, with pre-trial proceedings beginning as early as February 3.
