2025 NBA All-Star Game Rosters Revealed

2025 NBA All-Star Game Rosters Revealed

For the first time, the event will feature three All-Star teams and one Rising Stars team.

The NBA has officially unveiled the rosters for the 2025 All-Star Game, igniting excitement among fans and players. The game, set to take place at the Chase Center in San Francisco on February 16, is expected to be a major display of basketball talent, featuring both established stars and emerging players.

This year, the All-Star Game will depart from tradition with a new format. Instead of the usual two-team game, the event will take the shape of a tournament with four teams of eight players. Three teams will consist of All-Stars selected from both the Eastern and Western conferences, while the fourth team will be made up of players from the Rising Stars event on February 14. The tournament will include two semifinal matchups, with the winners moving on to the championship game, as covered by TNT.

The Eastern Conference starters include standout players such as Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks), Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers), Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics), Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), and Karl-Anthony Towns (New York Knicks). The Western Conference roster features stars like Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder), LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers), Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns), and Nikola Jokić (Denver Nuggets).

Each conference also has seven reserve players. The Eastern reserves include Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics), Pascal Siakam (Indiana Pacers), Darius Garland (Cleveland Cavaliers), Cade Cunningham (Detroit Pistons), Evan Mobley (Cleveland Cavaliers), Damian Lillard (Milwaukee Bucks), and Tyler Herro (Miami Heat). In the West, the reserves are Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves), Anthony Davis (Los Angeles Lakers), James Harden (Los Angeles Clippers), Jaren Jackson Jr. (Memphis Grizzlies), Alperen Şengün (Houston Rockets), Jalen Williams (Oklahoma City Thunder), and Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs), who is making his first All-Star appearance.

This year marks the debut of six first-time All-Stars, including Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley, and Tyler Herro from the East, and Wembanyama, Jalen Williams, and Alperen Şengün from the West. Despite the excitement surrounding their selections, the announcement sparked debates over some notable snubs, including Trae Young, LaMelo Ball, and Tyrese Maxey from the East, as well as Norman Powell and Domantas Sabonis from the West. Fans took to social media to express their frustration over these omissions.

Mike Conti voiced the frustration felt by many, writing on social media, "Trae Young doesn't need my help to argue his case for the All-Star Game. I just don’t understand how FOUR players who finished behind him in the fan/player/media vote were selected over him." This highlights the competitive nature of All-Star selections and the intense feelings fans have toward the process.

While head coaches make the final votes—excluding selections for their own players—fan support remains a key factor in the selection process. As All-Star Weekend draws near, fans are rallying behind their players, and debates over the roster selections are heating up.

The All-Star Game has evolved over time, particularly with the introduction of team captains selecting their rosters before the game. This year, however, the new tournament format adds an extra layer of excitement. TNT’s Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kenny Smith will serve as honorary general managers and will draft their teams on February 6.

All-Star Weekend kicks off with the NBA Celebrity Game and the Rising Stars Challenge on February 14, followed by the traditional Skills Challenge and Slam Dunk Contest on February 15. With the 2025 All-Star Game promising to be more dynamic than ever, fans are eagerly anticipating February 16.

The event will not only showcase elite talent but also reflect the evolving landscape of the NBA. Bringing together such a talented group of players underscores the All-Star Game's role as both a celebration of high-level performance and a major entertainment event for fans around the globe.
