Dan Bernstein Fired from 670 The Score Amid Doxing Controversy

Dan Bernstein, a longtime host at Chicago's sports radio station 670 The Score, has been let go following accusations of doxing during a social media dispute.

The station's head, Mitch Rosen, announced Bernstein's dismissal on air on March 21, 2025, around 1:50 p.m., and an email was also sent to the staff confirming his immediate departure.

The controversy started when Bernstein shared a photo of himself holding a northern pike, captioned "This was a helluva fight." A social media user accused him of killing the fish, to which Bernstein responded that it had been released. However, the user remained unconvinced, leading to an argument where Bernstein allegedly threatened to expose the user's identity and mentioned involving the person's children. Screenshots of the exchange were circulated online before the posts were deleted.

As a result of the backlash, Bernstein was removed from the board of directors at Camp One Step by Children’s Oncology Services, a charity he had supported for years. The organization stated that his comments did not align with its values.

Bernstein, who had been with 670 The Score since 1995, co-hosted several popular shows, including Boers and Bernstein and Bernstein & Holmes. While known for his outspoken opinions on Chicago sports, Bernstein had previously faced criticism for other controversial remarks.

His termination underscores the growing impact of online behavior and the increasing scrutiny on social media conduct within professional environments.
