Doxing Website Exposes Personal Info of Tesla Owners, Features Molotov Cocktail as Cursor: Report

A website called “Dogequest” has allegedly published the personal information of Tesla owners across the United States, seemingly aimed at shaming and intimidating them as Elon Musk's connections to the Trump administration have grown.

According to reports, “Dogequest” reveals the names, addresses, and phone numbers of Tesla owners using an interactive map, with a Molotov cocktail icon as its cursor. The site's operators also shared the exact locations of Tesla dealerships and stated they would remove personal details about Tesla drivers only if they provide proof of having sold their electric vehicles.

The website claims it will remove identifying information from Tesla owners once they present evidence that they no longer own their cars.

The site follows a series of vandalism incidents targeting Tesla drivers and dealerships, which appear to be linked to Musk’s prominent role in the Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

"Dogequest" also allegedly hosts personal information of DOGE employees, though the validity of this data has not been confirmed. The source of the Tesla owner data remains unclear.

One section of the website reads: “Is DOGEQUEST a protest platform?” The site adds: “If you’re looking for a Tesla to unleash your artistic flair with a spray can, just step outside — no map needed! At DOGEQUEST, we believe in empowering creative expressions of protest that you can execute from the comfort of your own home.”

A key feature of the site is the ability to remove a Tesla owner's data if they prove they have sold their vehicle. Under the heading “I want my information removed,” the website states: “Absolutely! Just provide us with proof that you’ve sold your Tesla.”

The surge of vandalism against Tesla dealerships and vehicles follows Musk's involvement with the Trump administration. One notable incident occurred earlier this month in Loveland, Colorado, where a woman was arrested after attacking a Tesla dealership with an incendiary device. At least two Tesla dealerships in Oregon have been targeted with gunshots, though no injuries were reported.

Tesla owners, including those with the recently launched Cybertruck, have reported ongoing harassment, including verbal insults and obscene gestures.

In addition to revealing personal data, “Dogequest” shows Tesla dealership locations and the approximate positions of Supercharger stations.

Following the release of this report, The Post was unable to access the Dogequest site. A spokesperson for the Justice Department was unavailable for comment.

Doxing refers to the public sharing of private or personal information without consent, often with the intent to harass or intimidate. While sharing publicly available information might not always be illegal, doxing can violate laws related to harassment, threats, stalking, or invasion of privacy, potentially leading to criminal or civil actions. Although no specific federal law explicitly criminalizes doxing, various federal statutes could be applied to prosecute related offenses.

404 Media verified that some individuals listed on Dogequest do own Teslas or have publicly supported Musk and Tesla, although full verification is still pending. The investigative outlet also confirmed some Tesla dealership listings but noted inconsistencies in some locations on the map.
