The comedian was escorted from his courtside seat during the New York Knicks' game against the Miami Heat on Monday, March 17, at Madison Square Garden.
Tracy Morgan seemed to experience a medical issue during the Knicks vs. Heat game at Madison Square Garden on Monday night. Witnesses on X reported that Morgan, 56, appeared ill, with some claiming he vomited and others saying he had a bloody nose. One image even showed him vomiting on the floor. A video posted on social media showed the 30 Rock star being wheeled away while holding a towel to his face.
The game, which ended in a 116-95 victory for the Knicks, was briefly paused for about 10 minutes during the third quarter due to Morgan's medical situation.
A representative from Madison Square Garden shared with PEOPLE, “We hope Tracy feels better soon and look forward to seeing him back courtside.”
Morgan's team did not immediately respond to requests for further details on the incident.
Morgan, who has diabetes and received a kidney transplant in 2010, has a history of overcoming health challenges. In 2014, he survived a devastating car crash in which a Walmart truck struck his limo on the New Jersey Turnpike. The crash killed his mentor James McNair and left Morgan with serious injuries. He was in a coma for two weeks and spent months in a wheelchair while recovering.
Reflecting on the tragedy, Morgan said in 2024, "I want to say to everyone who was in the van with me that night I love you, and we miss you, Uncle Jimmy Mac, and God bless your family." He also expressed forgiveness to the truck driver involved in the crash.
Following years of rehab, Morgan turned his experiences into comedy, telling PEOPLE in 2017 that the crash left him with a story to share. “When anything bad happened to me, I made it funny and turned it into something good,” he said, promoting his Netflix special Staying Alive.
Most recently, Morgan attended the SNL50 celebration in February 2025, where he appeared in sketches and reflected on his journey. “Just thank the Lord that I’m a part of this, that I survived the accident and I’m alive to be here for this,” he told comedian Matt Rogers during the red carpet special.
