Maria Hokanson, Executive Vice President of Marketing at ADQ, shared her excitement: “Free Cone Day is by far one of our favorite days of the year. There’s nothing sweeter than enjoying a tasty cone – on DQ – to start a season full of celebrations.”

Customers can enjoy one free small vanilla cone with no purchase required, making it a perfect treat for those craving something cold and sweet. However, there is a limit of one cone per person, and the offer is available only while supplies last. Free cones cannot be redeemed through delivery services via the DQ Rewards mobile app.

This year’s Free Cone Day is especially meaningful as it coincides with the first day of spring. The vernal equinox, marking the official start of the season, will occur at 5:01 AM EDT on March 20, making this ice cream celebration even sweeter.

But that’s not all! Dairy Queen is adding a charitable element to the festivities. For just $1, customers can opt to add a dipped coating to their cone, with all proceeds going to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals to support children's healthcare initiatives.

In addition, Free Cone Day is part of a larger wave of spring-inspired offers. Other restaurants are joining in on the fun, such as Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard, which is offering free 6 oz. servings of Italian ice, and Dunkin' Donuts, which is giving members of its Dunkin' Rewards program triple points on Dunkin' Refreshers purchases. Baskin-Robbins is also offering discounted smoothies and Mangonadas, adding to the festive spirit for ice cream lovers everywhere.

However, be aware that some mall locations may require an additional purchase to receive a free cone.
