Quinta Brunson and Husband Kevin Jay Anik End Their Marriage After 3 Years

Quinta Brunson, the star and creator of Abbott Elementary, has decided to part ways with her husband, Kevin Jay Anik, after three years of marriage.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly on March 20, 2025, Brunson filed for divorce after marrying Anik in October 2021. Court documents obtained by the outlet cite "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.

Brunson, who plays the optimistic second-grade teacher Janine Teagues on the hit mockumentary sitcom, has no children with Anik, with whom she had been in a long-term relationship before their marriage. Despite their separation, the actress had kept their relationship largely private until publicly confirming their marriage during her 2022 Emmys acceptance speech.

During her win for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, Brunson thanked her family and her "wonderful husband," praising him as "the most supportive man I've ever known." Over the years, Brunson, 35, had spoken fondly of Anik in interviews, highlighting his unwavering support.
