Lakers Broadcasters Shocked by Dalton Knecht’s Harrowing Fall Against Nuggets, JJ Redick Rushes to Player’s Side

Lakers Broadcasters Shocked by Dalton Knecht’s Harrowing Fall Against Nuggets, JJ Redick Rushes to Player’s Side

The Los Angeles Lakers were facing the Denver Nuggets with a significantly depleted roster, missing key players like Luka Doncic and LeBron James. Yet, despite these challenges, the Lakers came close to pulling off a stunning victory. One of the highlights was rookie Dalton Knecht, who was instrumental in the team’s near-comeback.

In the fourth quarter, Knecht took flight to extend the Lakers' slim lead, but he slipped off the rim and fell awkwardly on his head. The Laker announcers quickly expressed their concern, saying, "Oh, that’s a nasty fall. Hopefully, he’s okay."

In that moment, even Nuggets fans at Ball Arena held their breath. JJ Redick was quick to rush to Knecht's aid, ensuring that the rookie was alright. Fortunately, after receiving medical attention and taking a moment on the court, Knecht was able to get back on his feet and continue playing.

Lakers Broadcasters Reflect on JJ Redick’s Concern Amid the Game’s Intensity

While it's fortunate that Knecht was able to continue, it’s impressive how quickly he recovered. The adrenaline from the high-flying dunk and the electric atmosphere likely helped him push through the initial shock. However, as the game wound down, the announcers predicted that Knecht would likely feel the aftermath, saying, “He’s going to have a massive headache.”

Despite the fall, Knecht’s resilience provided a spark for the Lakers. The game swung back and forth in the fourth quarter, and Knecht’s athletic finish gave the Lakers a three-point lead with under a minute left. Unfortunately, a critical turnover prevented the injury-plagued Lakers from completing a remarkable comeback.

Even though the Lakers lost, it's clear that JJ Redick would still be proud of their effort.

Was Dalton Knecht’s Fall a Sign of Lakers’ Fighting Spirit or Just a Rookie Mistake?

The Lakers, severely short-handed without key players, were expected to be overwhelmed by the Nuggets. Yet, the players who were given the opportunity to step up weren’t intimidated. They came ready to compete, eager to send a message.

The Lakers closed out the third quarter strong, then began the fourth with a burst of energy. Knecht went on a six-point run, which felt like the turning point of the game. He finished the night with 32 points, 11 of which came in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, Austin Reaves stepped up with a massive double-double, contributing 37 points and 13 assists. Despite the loss, the Lakers showed incredible heart, battling for every possession.
