Dana White Responds to Bryce Mitchell's Praise of Hitler: Strong Condemnation, No Mention of Punishment

UFC President Dana White has issued a strong response to Bryce Mitchell’s disturbing comments praising Adolf Hitler, though he refrained from discussing potential consequences for the fighter.

Mitchell, a UFC featherweight, sparked outrage after making controversial remarks about Hitler during a recent appearance on the Arksanity podcast with former fighter Roli Delgado. Mitchell expressed a disturbing view of Hitler, calling him "a good guy" based on his own research, which he claimed was independent of "public education and indoctrination." The comments also included offensive antisemitic and homophobic remarks, quickly drawing widespread criticism.

In the podcast, Mitchell controversially stated, "I honestly think that Hitler was a good guy, based upon my own research, not my public education and indoctrination. I really do think that before Hitler got on meth, he was a guy to go fishing with." He further justified Hitler's actions by claiming he was "fighting for his people" and seeking a "pure nation," a sentiment that has sparked immense backlash.

The MMA community has widely condemned Mitchell's comments, with prominent figures such as Ariel Helwani and Jason Hagholm voicing their outrage and warning of the dangerous impact of such statements. Despite the growing outcry, the UFC initially remained silent on the matter.

After hours of silence, Dana White finally addressed the issue, labeling Mitchell’s remarks as "probably the worst" he’d ever heard. In a statement, White expressed his disgust, saying, "We've obviously reached out to Bryce and when we read what he said, we let him know how we feel about it. We are beyond disgusted." However, when asked whether Mitchell would face disciplinary action, White sidestepped the question, emphasizing his stance on free speech. "That's what everybody wants to hear about, punishment. It’s free speech, I don’t have to love it, you don’t have to love it... You know where I stand on free speech. We’re disgusted by it."
