After her time at the USDS, Gleason transitioned to the private sector, becoming the chief product officer at two healthcare startups in Nashville, Tennessee — Russell Street Ventures and Main Street Health. Both companies, led by healthcare entrepreneur Brad Smith, focus on improving care for underserved patient populations, and both have connections to the DOGE initiative. She also ran her own consulting firm, Gleason Strategies, during this time.

Additionally, Gleason served as vice president for research at the Cure JM Foundation, an organization focused on juvenile myositis, a rare autoimmune disease affecting her daughter. In January 2025, Gleason returned to the government as a senior adviser at the renamed US DOGE Service, shortly after Trump's second inauguration.
