Search for 15-Year-Old Azalea Strifler Continues Over 40 Hours After AMBER Alert Issued

An AMBER Alert was issued by the Harnett County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday afternoon for 15-year-old Azalea Strifler, who has been missing since early Tuesday morning.

Azalea is described as 5'4", approximately 110 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen in the vicinity of Bethel Baptist Road and Storey Acres Road in Spring Lake.

According to her mother, Azalea was last seen at their home in Spring Lake and is believed to have been picked up, placing her in "imminent danger."

Following her disappearance, K-9 units conducted a search of the area where she was last seen, and deputies interviewed several of her friends. After gathering information, the Harnett County Sheriff's Office determined the situation met the criteria for an AMBER Alert, which was issued on Wednesday morning. The emergency alert was sent to phones around 1 p.m.

Authorities explained that a new vendor caused a minor delay in the phone alerts, but there were no delays in informing the public.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) has also stepped in to assist with the search. John Bischoff, Vice President of NCMEC, stated that the organization is offering resources to help amplify the message and support the investigation.

Azalea is a student at Ascend Leadership Academy, where she is known as a dedicated and active participant in various activities.
