Slack Restores Service After Major Outage, But Some Users Still Experiencing Issues
Slack has mostly restored its services after a significant global outage disrupted users. While messaging and other key features are operational again, some users continue to face login problems. The company is actively monitoring the situation and working to resolve the remaining issues, advising users to stay updated on progress.
The outage, which began around 10:30 AM ET on February 26, 2025, left thousands of users unable to send messages, access channels, or maintain a stable connection. According to DownDetector, over 3,000 reports were made from the US alone, with widespread disruptions also affecting Canada, the UK, and parts of Europe.
Slack acknowledged the issue on its official status page, confirming that its engineering team was investigating the cause. The company has since restored most services, including messaging, workflows, threads, and other API functions. However, some users may still encounter issues logging in, loading workspaces, or using certain features.
In an official statement, Slack explained, "We’ve identified the cause of the issue and are continuing to monitor our health metrics, though we’re not fully resolved. Some users may still experience difficulties loading their workspaces. Our team is working to restore affected backend services and return full functionality."
As Slack works on fixing the remaining problems, users are encouraged to check the company's status page for real-time updates and follow troubleshooting steps, such as refreshing the app or browser.
The company has apologized for the disruption and reassured users that it is making every effort to restore full service as quickly as possible.
