Luka Dončić, now a member of the Los Angeles Lakers following a blockbuster trade, has yet to make his debut in a Lakers uniform. Fans are eagerly awaiting his first game alongside LeBron James, but the official announcement of when that will happen is still pending.

When Will Luka Dončić Play for the Lakers?

Dončić arrived in Los Angeles on February 2, but has not played yet due to a combination of acclimating to the team and a lingering calf injury from December. While there is no official word on his return, NBA insider Marc Spears reported that Dončić is aiming to play in the Lakers' game against the Utah Jazz on February 10.

The Lakers' first game after the trade will take place on February 4 against the Clippers at the Intuit Dome. However, it’s expected that Dončić will not play in this game, as he is still considered day-to-day. Lakers GM confirmed that Dončić is slated to return to practice on Wednesday.

Luka Dončić Injury Update

Dončić has been sidelined since Christmas Day with a calf injury suffered against the Timberwolves. Following the trade, NBA insider Brian Windhorst mentioned that Dončić is "ramping up his rehab" and may return before the All-Star break. Marc Spears also confirmed that Dončić is targeting a return on either February 10 or 12, during the Lakers' back-to-back games against the Jazz.

Though it’s unclear exactly when, it seems likely that Dončić will be ready to play in one of the Lakers' final five games before the break, or shortly after it when they face the Hornets.
