Cristiano Ronaldo Addresses 'Best Player Debate,' Acknowledges Messi's Popularity

Cristiano Ronaldo has put to rest the ongoing debate about who the better player is between him and Lionel Messi, acknowledging that while some may prefer the Argentine, he considers himself the most complete footballer in history.

Ronaldo, a player who has dominated football for over a decade and now plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, has been at the center of an intense rivalry with Messi for years. Despite the long-standing competition, Ronaldo admits that there are people who favor Messi or other legendary figures like Pele and Maradona.

"I believe I'm the most complete football player to ever exist," Ronaldo stated in an interview with Spanish media outlet LaSexta TV. "People might like Messi, Maradona, or Pele, and I respect that, but I see myself as the most complete player."

Ronaldo, who has consistently won prestigious awards alongside Messi, emphasized that he does not agree with anyone claiming he's not a complete footballer.

The Portuguese forward also spoke about his longstanding relationship with Messi, saying that there was never any animosity between them. "We’ve shared 15 years of awards, and we’ve always gotten along well," he shared. "I remember translating English for him, which was pretty funny. We defended our respective clubs and national teams. It was a healthy rivalry."

When asked about being the best player in football history, Ronaldo proudly highlighted his goal-scoring abilities, noting, "I think I’m the most complete player in history. I can do everything in football—I score with my head, take free kicks, use both feet, and I'm strong."

Ultimately, Ronaldo confidently stated, "I haven’t seen anyone better than me. I say that from the heart."
