Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga Honor Wildfire Resilience with "California Dreamin'" at the Grammys
Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga delivered an emotional tribute to the victims of the L.A. wildfires with a heartfelt duet of the classic song "California Dreamin'" at the 2025 Grammys. Gaga also debuted her new single, "Abracadabra," during a commercial break. Their collaboration on "Die With a Smile" earned Grammy nominations for Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
The two stars, known for their playful energy when they teamed up for the 2024 hit "Die With a Smile," took a more somber approach for their performance of the 1960s anthem. The tribute followed a montage showcasing the devastating impact of the wildfires that ravaged L.A. in early January. As they sang the iconic line, "All the leaves are brown... and the sky is gray," the meaning of the song's wintery imagery resonated deeply with Southern Californians.
Gaga's appearance also included the premiere of her new single and music video, "Abracadabra," which aired during a commercial break. The upbeat dance track, set to be featured on her upcoming album Mayhem, was officially unveiled, with the album's release scheduled for March 7.
Although the music video debut wasn't part of the official Grammys performance, Gaga introduced it during the broadcast, saying, "The category is... dance or die."
