Texas Rapper G$ Lil Ronnie and 5-Year-Old Daughter Killed in Car Wash Shooting: Reports

A shooting at a car wash in northern Texas on Monday resulted in the deaths of a 5-year-old girl and a 30-year-old man, who is believed to be local rapper G$ Lil Ronnie.

According to police, two suspects opened fire on the victims shortly before 11 a.m. local time in Forest Hill, a suburb roughly 30 miles west of Dallas. Officers attempted life-saving measures, but both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspects fled in a white four-door Kia after approaching the victims' vehicle, the Forest Hill Police Department reported. A capital murder warrant has been issued for the suspects, though their identities have not yet been disclosed.

A witness at the scene described hearing approximately 20 to 30 gunshots, as reported by local station KTVT.

This shooting marks the fourth and fifth homicides in Forest Hill this year, compared to no homicides in 2024, according to police.

Family and friends have identified the man killed as rapper Ronnie "LilRonnie" Smith, also known as G$ Lil Ronnie. Smith's aunt, Stella Houston, shared that her nephew had no known enemies. "He was a good kid. He didn’t bother nobody," Houston told WFAA.

Smith had around 40,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. His most popular track, “Hoodfame Killuminati,” was part of a 2018 collaboration with Go Yayo, whose real name is Kyrin Xavier Peters. Peters shared a photo of the two on Instagram, writing, "Life or death 4 u big brudda."
