Rachel Recchia Celebrates Gabby Windey's Surprise Wedding to Robby Hoffman: "Never Been Happier"

Rachel Recchia Celebrates Gabby Windey's Surprise Wedding to Robby Hoffman: "Never Been Happier"

Rachel Recchia is celebrating the recent surprise wedding of her former Bachelorette co-star, Gabby Windey, who recently married comedian Robby Hoffman.

“My heart has never been happier,” Recchia, 28, shared on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, March 5, reposting the wedding photos of Windey and Hoffman.

Windey, 34, and Recchia both starred as the leads on The Bachelorette in 2022, but each ended the season single after failed engagements to Erich Schwer and Tino Franco. Later, in August 2023, Windey came out as queer and began dating 35-year-old comedian Robby Hoffman. The couple revealed on March 5 that they had secretly tied the knot on January 11.

“We had just evacuated from the fires. Literally, cue Rihanna, ‘We found love in a hopeless place,’” Windey recalled to Cosmopolitan, referencing the Los Angeles wildfires. “What better time to get married than right now? Because if the world is ending, we want to be with each other.”

Windey and Hoffman evacuated to Las Vegas and stayed at a hotel near a wedding chapel.

“Gabby turned to me and said, ‘Should we get married?’ And look: I’ve been proposing since the day I met her,” Hoffman explained. “We got to this room, and it was like out of a mafia movie—12-foot ceilings, separate bedroom from the living room. And then Gabby mentioned getting married.”

Windey liked the fact that the idea for the wedding came from her.

"Robby was literally ready to propose three weeks in, and I’m always the one pumping the brakes, but when something feels right, it just feels right,” Windey said. “I think it was better for both of us that it was my idea.”

Windey and Hoffman’s wedding was a modest affair, costing just $799. The package included a limousine, portraits taken by photographer Big Nate, and a ceremony officiated by Reverend Nature, who wore red sneakers.

“I can’t believe how perfect it was. It was the best wedding I’ve ever been to,” Hoffman gushed. “We got to spend our wedding truly together. We love to be together.”

Earlier, Windey told Us Weekly that she hoped their relationship was “destined to be together forever.”

“Well, if it was up to Robby, we’d be engaged, like, six months ago,” Windey joked to Us in September 2024. “It’s nice to do things at your own pace, listen to yourself, and know there doesn’t have to be pressure. If we’re destined to be together forever, everything will happen naturally.”

Gabby Windey and Robby Hoffman’s Secret Vegas Wedding: A Look at Other Celebrity Elopements

Gabby Windey, known for The Bachelorette and The Traitors, and comedian Robby Hoffman shocked fans by announcing their surprise Las Vegas wedding. The couple had been evacuated due to the Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025. As they fled, they decided to marry, feeling that if the world was ending, they wanted to be with each other.

They drove to Las Vegas and tied the knot a few days later, with a 20-minute ceremony at One Love Wedding Chapel, where they danced down the aisle to Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go!” The intimate wedding, with no guests, was officiated by Reverend Nature and photographed by Big Nate. Windey wore an off-white lace dress she found at a department store, and Hoffman wore her own clothing.

The ceremony cost them $799, including photos, limo service, and the chapel rental. “It was the best wedding I’ve ever been to,” Hoffman said.

The couple carefully selected their venue, wanting to avoid a short-lived marriage like that of Britney Spears and Jason Alexander, who famously wed in Vegas and annulled it 55 hours later. Instead, they chose One Love Wedding Chapel, where celebrities like Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have wed.

  • Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos: The Live co-hosts secretly wed at Chapel of the Bells in 1996.
