Authorities have issued warnings throughout the Southeast, and efforts to contain the fires remain challenging, escalating fears of further devastation, according to The Guardian.

In South Carolina, a brush fire near Myrtle Beach in the Carolina Forest area sparked significant concern, leading to ongoing evacuation efforts in the region. Horry County reported the evacuation early Sunday morning, and on Saturday night, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster issued a statewide burn ban due to the wildfire risk. He stated, “Our first responders and firefighters are risking their lives to contain many fires across South Carolina tonight," according to The Guardian.
The fire in Carolina Forest near Myrtle Beach rapidly spread, burning 1,200 acres in just 24 hours, as reported by the South Carolina Forestry Commission and Post and Courier. Thankfully, no injuries or structural damage have been reported so far.
As the fire continued to advance, evacuation orders were issued for several nearby communities, including Walkers Woods, Avalon, Indigo Bay, Summerlyn, Spring Lake, Covington Lakes, Waterford, and The Farm, as a precautionary measure to ensure residents’ safety.
