This earthquake occurred just hours after the conclusion of the 97th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The quake originated 15 km (9.3 miles) beneath the earth’s surface, with its epicenter located near North Hollywood, as reported by the USGS.

The shaking was felt in several parts of the city, including the San Fernando Valley, Pasadena, Long Beach, and Glendale, but no major damage or injuries have been reported. Local authorities, including the Los Angeles Fire Department, confirmed that they did not enter "earthquake mode," which is activated for significant tremors when responders assess potential damage.
