Rachel Sennott and Rachel Zegler Respond to Oscars Pre-Show Mix-Up
Rachel Sennott, known for her roles in Bottoms, Saturday Night, and Bodies Bodies Bodies, is having some fun with the mix-up that occurred during ABC’s official Oscars pre-show. The broadcast mistakenly identified footage of Sennott on the red carpet as Rachel Zegler, the star of The Hunger Games and West Side Story. Sennott took to Instagram Stories to share her reaction, tagging Zegler and adding a crying emoji for humor.
Zegler quickly responded to Sennott’s post, pointing out that they share the same middle name, Anne.
The two stars were at the Oscars in Los Angeles on Sunday, though not together. Zegler walked the red carpet as a presenter alongside Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs co-star Gal Gadot, where Zegler portrays the titular princess and Gadot plays the Evil Queen.
While Sennott wasn’t presenting at the ceremony, she did host the nominations announcement in January alongside Bowen Yang from Saturday Night Live and Wicked. Sennott later shared with Etalk how the night of the nominations reveal was full of delirium: "It was like a midnight glam call, and we started at like 5 a.m., so by the time we were doing it, everything felt funny — like when you've had a sleepover for too long and everything's just hilarious."
Looking ahead, Sennott is set to star in her own HBO comedy series, which will premiere later this year, hopefully making it easier to tell “which Rachel is which.”
