Dolly Parton and Husband Carl Dean’s Net Worth: How Much Have They Accumulated Over the Years?
Carl Thomas Dean, the husband of country music icon Dolly Parton, has passed away at the age of 82. Dean, a businessman who owned an asphalt-paving company in Nashville, died in Nashville, Tennessee, on Monday. He leaves behind his wife and siblings.
The sad news was shared on Dolly Parton's Instagram account.
The post read, “Carl Dean, husband of Dolly Parton, passed away on March 3rd in Nashville at the age of 82. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with only immediate family in attendance. He is survived by his siblings Sandra and Donnie.”
Dolly Parton also shared heartfelt words: "Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can't truly express the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy. The family asks for privacy during this difficult time.”
Carl Dean was born in 1942 to Virginia "Ginny" Bates Dean and Edgar "Ed" Henry Dean. He first met Dolly Parton outside the Wishy Washy Laundromat on the day she moved to Nashville at 18. Two years later, they married in a small ceremony in Ringgold, Georgia.
Reflecting on their long marriage, Parton recalled in a 2021 interview with PEOPLE, “My husband and I have been together for 56 years, married for 54. Even now, we have little traditions, like when the first yellow daffodils come out in the spring. Even if there's still snow around, my husband always brings me a bouquet and usually writes me a little poem. To me, that’s priceless.”
In a 2019 interview, Parton shared, “He’s always supporting me, as long as I don’t try to drag him into it. He’s always been my biggest fan behind the scenes, but he stays at home.”
At the time of his death, Carl Dean’s net worth was estimated to be around $20 million, while Dolly Parton’s wealth was reported to be approximately $650 million, according to Marca.
