Senco Gold Share Price Hits 20% Lower Circuit: Here's Why
Shares of Kolkata-based jewelry retailer Senco Gold Limited plummeted by 20% on February 14, 2025, hitting the lower circuit limit following weak financial results for Q3 FY2025. The stock opened with a sharp decline of over 14%, dropping to Rs 380 on the NSE from the previous close of Rs 447. It then hit the day's low at Rs 357.60, marking the 20% lower circuit. Approximately 47.5 lakh shares were traded before the halt.
This decline came after two consecutive days of gains for the stock. Currently, Senco Gold’s share price is trading below its 5-day, 20-day, 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day moving averages.
Senco Gold Q3 Results:
For Q3 FY2025, Senco Gold reported a significant drop in profits, with its PAT falling by 69% year-on-year to Rs 33.48 crore, compared to Rs 109.32 crore in Q3 FY2024. The adjusted PAT also declined by 51% YoY to Rs 53.74 crore. Despite the sharp decline in profits, the company’s revenue from operations increased by 27% YoY, rising to Rs 2,102.55 crore from Rs 1,652.20 crore in the same period last year. However, EBITDA for the quarter fell by 55.8% YoY to Rs 79.96 crore from Rs 181.1 crore in Q3 FY2024.
Senco Gold, which is part of the BSE SmallCap index, operates in the gems, jewelry, and watches industry.
Stock Split and Market Capitalization:
The company had launched its IPO in July 2023, issuing shares at Rs 317 each. The stock reached a high of Rs 722 in October 2023. In January 2025, Senco Gold announced a 2:1 stock split, reducing the face value of shares from Rs 10 to Rs 5. Currently, the company has a market capitalization of Rs 5,850.51 crore.
