Early Life and Education
Born on 18 December 1988 in Machiplavu, near Adimali in Idukki district of Kerala, Sachin Baby was named after cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar by his parents. He completed his early schooling at Vishwadeepthi Public School and SNDP School.
Cricket Career
Sachin made his debut in first-class cricket for Kerala in the 2009–10 Ranji Trophy. He debuted in List A cricket in the 2010–11 Vijay Hazare Trophy and in T20s during the 2011–12 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Notably, Sachin scored heavily in the 2012–13 Vijay Hazare Trophy with 298 runs from seven matches. He also earned a spot in the South Zone squad for the 2012–13 Deodhar Trophy. As captain of Kerala in the 2014–15 Ranji Trophy, Sachin scored his maiden first-class century. He followed it up with a career-best 250* in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy.
Sachin led Kerala to historic quarter-final and semi-final finishes in the Ranji Trophy under his leadership. He also formed a record 338-run partnership with Sanju Samson in the 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy, which remains one of the highest in List-A cricket for India.
Indian Premier League (IPL)
Sachin was first signed by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2013 IPL but received limited opportunities. Later, he was picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2016, where he played 11 matches. He was also bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018 and later rejoined Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2021 IPL season.
Kerala Cricket League
Sachin Baby captained the Aries Kollam Sailors in the Kerala Cricket League, leading them to victory in the KCL Trophy. He played pivotal roles, including scoring crucial centuries in the final, where his performance earned him the "Man of the Match" accolade.
Personal Life
Sachin married Anna Chandy on 5 January 2017, and they have a son together. He also launched his YouTube channel, Sachin Baby Official, on 15 July 2020.
